The first African Education Technology initiative, INJINI, is launched!

Liesbet and I attended the launched of the EdTech Initiative Injini at UCT this week.

Eight companies were identified as the first team launched in this exciting global, Africa-focussed initiative. They hail from Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan and Tanzania and are Accelerated, Early Bird, M-Shule, Mtabe, Syafunda, Uthini, Yo’ Books and Zelda.

Ranging from Early Childhood Development to Adult learning, from data analytics apps to an offline AI powered search engine for students, their different approaches and focuses are united in a desire to reach the whole population and continent with innovations that improve education for everyone.

Each company gave a lightning pitch on their business and answered questions from the audience. 600+ teachers, EdTech entrepreneurs, investors, students and people passionate about education were in attendance.
